November 2024 News Update

BIBLE STUDIES

Will now be on Zoom over the winter months, Thursdays, 7.00 p.m. for a 7.15 start.

On 21st November Dave and Corinna Robey will be joining our Zoom Bible study and on 28th November Dave will be our speaker at the Bible study.

SUNDAY SERVICES

Sunday 10th November Andrew will be preaching at Mow Cop Community Church in the morning and Bob will be preaching at Cross Street.

Sunday 17th November will be Safeguarding Sunday when we will be thinking about the importance of keeping each other safe.

Sunday 24th November will be an all age family service in the morning.

Sunday 24th November, 6.00 p.m. – Derek and Hilary Balsdon invite you to ‘A Time To Say Goodbye’.
This will be an opportunity to give thanks to God for the years they have served God in this area, and for us all to say farewell to one another as they are soon moving to take up new roles in the Freedom Church, Wiltshire (where Derek will be Pastor and Hilary will be a worship leader and preacher). There will be time for a chat together over a cuppa after the service.

October 2024 News Update


Our November fair on the 2nd November is fast approaching – please bring in any donations of clothes, shoes, books, bric a brack etc.

All proceeds for the November fair are going towards the children we support in India and Columbia.

Summer 2024 Update

Lighthouse and Toddlers have now stopped for the summer and will resume in September

Bible study and Nourish will also take a break for the summer holidays and resume in September

Our Summer Fair held on July 27th in aid of “World of Worth” was our best ever – raising a grand total of £785

March 2024 News Update

March is a month of prayer for the future of our church during a period of transition during which we will be looking to choose a new pastor. Anyone interested can find more information about this position HERE.

Thursdays during March the church will be open for private and small group prayer 10.00 am to 2.00pm and Thursday evenings 7.15 to 8.30pm will be prayer meetings instead of Bible study.

Easter services

Friday 29th March 10.00-11 a.m. – Good Friday communion service
Sunday 31st March 9.00 a.m. – Easter breakfast followed by an all age family service.
Sunday 31st March 6.00 p.m. – Evening service with communion

February 2024 News Update

Spring Fair – fund raised will be in support of the Gathehu School in Kenya (see more about this mission here).

We will also be running a new ‘The Way’ course for those wanting to find out more about the Christian course or new Christians. It’ll be held on wednesday evenings, starting on the 21st February 2024 from 6.30-8pm. For more details about ‘The Way’ course – click here.

January 2024 Update

Happy New Year!

All our activities that stopped for the Christmas break are all back up and running now!

Our next all age service will be 14th January.

New for 2024 is a prayer meeting starting at 10.10am every morning (before the main morning service) in the games room.

Our ‘Plant a Tree in 23’ campaign managed to raise £1000 which when the trees are harvested in 10 years time will generate £33,000 for WOW’s work in Uganda. For more about this campaign click here.

November 2023 News Update

The money has all been counted from the Autumn fair and we raised a grand total of £582.11 to send to the children we sponsor through WOW (World of worth)

September 2023 Update

Following the summer break we are restarting Bible studies at the church on Thursday evenings, 7.00 p.m. for a 7.15 start. We will be continuing our studies on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

This Sunday morning will be an All age Family Service, 10.30 – 11.15 a.m. Starting this Sunday evening we will be having our Sunday evening communion services at the church at 6.00 p.m. Sunday 1st October will be our Harvest service.

The next Nourish is Friday 15th September at 12.00 noon.

Congleton Bible Week with speaker Matt Searles will be Thursday 21st – Sunday 24th September. The Sunday evening meeting will be at Cross Street Church but the other meetings are at different churches. For more information click on the link: https://congletonbibleweek.co.uk/events

Our childrens activities that paused for a summer break are all now back up and running. This includes: Parent and toddler group on wednesdays and lighthouse on fridays.

Church Services in August

This sunday (6th August) we are trialling a hybrid evening service so you can either join us from your own home or, for those who prefer, you can join us at church where we will have the Zoom meeting set up on the large screen in the entrance lounge. Any who would like to join us will be welcome.

Also don’t forget to make a special note in your diary that we have David taylor visiting us on Sunday morning on the 20th August.
