May 2026 News Update

Apologies for the late update – we’ve been having some technical updates but all fixed now we hope!

We have some good news to share – the spring fair together with the refreshments sold at Congleton Unplugged has raised over £1100 for WOW (Read more about the good work they do HERE)

Events in May

15th May (Friday) Nourish

17th May All-Age Family Sunday Service at 10.30 followed by hot drinks and cookies.

23rd (Saturday) Christian Life & Witness Course. 9.30-12.30
This is a 3 hour Christian Life Witness Course run by the Billy Graham Foundation, with a guest speaker. This course aims to help believers deepen their faith in Jesus Christ and Share him with others during the God Loves You Tour- or on their own as they witness to friends, family members and co-workers. You can just come on the day, but if you could let us know you are coming that would greatly help with our planning. There’s no cost to attend, all the study materials are provided and there will be tea and coffee available. More information available HERE.

Half Term: No Lighthouse on Friday 22nd May or Friday 29th May, and no Toddlers group on the 27th May (Wednesday)

Upcoming Events

June sees the return of Congleton Bible Week – This year’s theme is ‘Living Successfully in a Dangerous World’ with guest speaker Stephen Gaukroger.

We will be hosting the breakfast meeting on Saturday the 13th June at 8.30am (if you’d like to come or can help out, please let us know for catering purposes by the 7th June), and also the Sunday evening session the 14th June at 6pm. For more information please click HERE

April 2026 News Update

Easter Services:

Good Friday 3rd April

Morning service 10.30-11.30 followed by service in Town Centre at 12.00 noon.

Easter Sunday 5th April

Easter Breakfast 9am followed by an all age service at approximately 10.30 . All welcome but please let us know if you are coming for breakfast for catering purposes.

Evening Communion service at 6pm

April Events and Courses:

Lighthouse and toddlers pauses on the 8th and 10th of April.

Our Spring Fair will be held on saturday the 11th of April, 9.30 to 1.30, donations of clothes, shoes, bric-a-brac, toys and books welcome. Light refreshments and a cake stand available on the day.

Our Christianity Explored course starts on the 16th of April at 10.30am and on the 17th of April, both running for 7 weeks.

Nourish is on Friday the 17th this month.

We are having an African Evening with music and food on April the 25th from 5-8pm to thank everyone for their help fundraising for the Gathehu school in Kenya, please contact us for catering purposes, lots of different foods to try including non-spicy and vegetarian food.

Our next family service is on 26th May at 10.30. Drinks and cookies after the service.

Upcoming events in May:

On Saturday morning 23rd of May we will be holding a 3 hour Christian Life Witness Course as part of the Billy Graham Foundation activities, with a guest speaker. More details to follow…

March 2026 News Update

Events this month:

There are still a few places left for the Women’s day conference ‘Flourish’ in Biddulph on Saturday 14th. To book and for more information please click HERE.

This month our family service will be held on Mother’s day, 15th March at 10.30, with drinks and cookies to follow the service.

Nourish this month is on Friday 20th. Please contact us if you wish to book a place and for more information see our webpage HERE.

Upcoming Events in April


Our Spring Fair will be held on the 11th April, all proceeds to charity. More details on our webpage HERE.

Donations of clothing, shoes, books, toys and bric-a-brac gratefully received but please bring these AFTER Congleton Unplugged on the 21st of March.

Congleton Bible Week dates have just been announced too! Running 11th-14th of June this year with this years theme “Living successfully in a dangerous world” and with guest speaker Stephen Gaukroger.

February 2026 News Update

The new year got off to a great start with three new people baptised in January. Please do get in touch if you would like to get baptised, we would be very happy to talk to you and arrange another baptism service.

February Events:

Our all-age family service this month will be on Sunday 15th of February at 10.30, all welcome.

Children’s activities will pause for the half term week (no Lighthouse Friday 13th or 20th and no toddlers Wednesday 19th).

Nourish is on Friday 20th February- please book if you are interested in coming along.

March :

Flourish Women’s conference “Restored” is being held on Saturday 14th March 10-5pm at Life Stream Church, Knypersley. To book and for more information please click HERE.

We will be hosting Congleton Unplugged on the 21st March, proceeds from refreshments will go to charity. See more HERE.

April:
Spring Fair date is now confirmed to be the 11th April, more details HERE.

October:
We have signed up to the “God Loves Manchester” Franklin Graham tour (website is HERE) and are planning on organising buses to take people from Congleton on the 3rd of October, so pencil this in your diary. We’ll also be holding some more events in the run up to this, the full details aren’t quite finalised as this is still a way off.

January 2026 News Update

Happy New Year!

All our activities that paused for the Christmas holidays will resume from Monday the 5th of January.

Nourish – Friday 16th January – click HERE for more information

Annual AGM- Sunday 18th January, this will follow our morning service.

Baptism Service – Sunday the 25th January at 10.30am. If you are interested in being baptised yourself, please do get in touch.

We are still busy planning next years events, but early in the year we will be having our Annual Spring Fair. So if you are having a spring clear out, maybe put some unwanted items aside for our fair. We’ll confirm the date shortly.

December 2025 News Update

Christmas is nearly upon us!

We have a full page dedicated to all our Christmas activities so why not pop over and have a look HERE. We look forward to seeing you at some or all of our activities.

Toddlers, Lighthouse and Prayer Meetings stop from the 15th of December and recommence in the new year. Please note there is no evening service on Sunday 28th December.

November 2025 News Update

All the activities stopped for half term are now back up and running.

Bible study for the winter has moved to a blended format and will be held at the church but also streamed online. Please contact us if you’d like to receive the link.

As of 2nd November, our Autumn fair raised approximately £700 for the children we sponsor. Many thanks to all who contributed whether by donations, helping on the day or buying something from our fair.

October 2025 News Update

We’ve two guest speakers from missions we support to look forward to this month at Cross Street:

First is Andy David from WOW is speaking in the morning service on sunday the 19th October (10.30am).

Then on  26th October, Ossie Post from African Enterprise is coming to our evening service (6pm).

Family church this month is on the 26th October.

Half Term Closures:

No Toddlers group 29th October and no Lighthouse 24th or 31st of October.

Coming up in November

Autumn Fair is on the 1st of November, so start collecting any unwanted clothes, toys, books and bric-a-brac. Money raised from the fair will go to support the children we sponsor in Columbia, Africa, India and Bulgaria.

August 2025 News Update

Summer holiday time!

And a big thanks to everyone who contributed to our Summer fair – a total of £632.27 was raised which will be given to “World of Worth” (see https://www.wowuk.org/)

Upcoming August Events

Church picnic in the park – Sunday 10th August (weather permitting – final decision to be made 6th August) – bring a packed lunch to the Sunday morning service for our picnic in the park together.

Family Service – Sunday 24th August

We are also planning on having a working party on Wednesday 13th August and Saturday 23rd August to give our church building a summer ‘spring clean’, anyone that can help out, please get in touch.

Summer Break

Most activities at Cross Street will also take an August break, but Sunday morning and evening services will continue as normal.

Prayer meetings on Wednesday and Bible studies on Thursday will stop for August, and there will be no Nourish in August. Prayer meetings and Bible study will restart the first week of september.

Children’s activities (already stopped for the summer break) will restart in the second week of September (Toddlers and Lighthouse).

Coming in September…

Coming up in September we are planning a “Christianity Explored” course – date to be confirmed soon!

July 2025 News Update

Summer Holiday Changes

Last Lighthouse club before the school summer holidays is Friday the 11th and restarts after the break.

The last toddlers group before the school holidays is Wednesday the 16th and again, will restart in the Autumn term.

Bible study continues in July on thursday evenings @ 7.15pm with ‘The Romans’ course – see the first session on YouTube HERE.
We will pause our bible study course for August before resuming in September.

Summer Fair

Don’t forget its our summer fair on the 26th July 9.30-2pm.
All proceeds for the summer fair will go to support ‘World of Worth’.
Offers of help on the day, clothes, shoes, toys, books, bric-a-brac e.t.c. are all very welcome. Why not have a summer clear out for any unwanted or unused items.
Donations of cakes and treats also very welcome nearer to the fair date. More details can be found HERE.
