The Bible Week started in 2011 as a result of a vision shared by Keith Jarvis (a retired Methodist minister) and Paul Withington (Vicar of St. Peter’s C. of E., Congleton. The Bible Week committee is gathered from different churches in the town.
The first event was a week in May 2011, which coincided with the four hundredth anniversary of the King James (Authorised Version) of the Bible. The first speakers were Rev. Rob Cotton, then working for the Bible Society, and Rev. David Coffey, former secretary of the Baptist Union. Our next bible week is June 20th-23rd 2024 with guest speaker Martin Salter.
