January 2026 News Update

Happy New Year!

All our activities that paused for the Christmas holidays will resume from Monday the 5th of January.

Dates for your diary:

Nourish – Friday 16th January – click HERE for more information

Annual AGM- Sunday 18th January, this will follow our morning service.

Baptism Service – Sunday the 25th January at 10.30am. If you are interested in being baptised yourself, please do get in touch.

We are still busy planning next years events, but early in the year we will be having our Annual Spring Fair. So if you are having a spring clear out, maybe put some unwanted items aside for our fair. We’ll confirm the date shortly.

December 2025 News Update

Christmas is nearly upon us!

We have a full page dedicated to all our Christmas activities so why not pop over and have a look HERE. We look forward to seeing you at some or all of our activities.

Toddlers, Lighthouse and Prayer Meetings stop from the 15th of December and recommence in the new year. Please note there is no evening service on Sunday 28th December.

November 2025 News Update

All the activities stopped for half term are now back up and running.

Bible study for the winter has moved to a blended format and will be held at the church but also streamed online. Please contact us if you’d like to receive the link.

As of 2nd November, our Autumn fair raised approximately £700 for the children we sponsor. Many thanks to all who contributed whether by donations, helping on the day or buying something from our fair.

October 2025 News Update

We’ve two guest speakers from missions we support to look forward to this month at Cross Street:

First is Andy David from WOW is speaking in the morning service on sunday the 19th October (10.30am).

Then on  26th October, Ossie Post from African Enterprise is coming to our evening service (6pm).

Family church this month is on the 26th October.

Half Term Closures:

No Toddlers group 29th October and no Lighthouse 24th or 31st of October.

Coming up in November

Autumn Fair is on the 1st of November, so start collecting any unwanted clothes, toys, books and bric-a-brac. Money raised from the fair will go to support the children we sponsor in Columbia, Africa, India and Bulgaria.

August 2025 News Update

Summer holiday time!

And a big thanks to everyone who contributed to our Summer fair – a total of £632.27 was raised which will be given to “World of Worth” (see https://www.wowuk.org/)

Upcoming August Events

Church picnic in the park – Sunday 10th August (weather permitting – final decision to be made 6th August) – bring a packed lunch to the Sunday morning service for our picnic in the park together.

Family Service – Sunday 24th August

We are also planning on having a working party on Wednesday 13th August and Saturday 23rd August to give our church building a summer ‘spring clean’, anyone that can help out, please get in touch.

Summer Break

Most activities at Cross Street will also take an August break, but Sunday morning and evening services will continue as normal.

Prayer meetings on Wednesday and Bible studies on Thursday will stop for August, and there will be no Nourish in August. Prayer meetings and Bible study will restart the first week of september.

Children’s activities (already stopped for the summer break) will restart in the second week of September (Toddlers and Lighthouse).

Coming in September…

Coming up in September we are planning a “Christianity Explored” course – date to be confirmed soon!

July 2025 News Update

Summer Holiday Changes

Last Lighthouse club before the school summer holidays is Friday the 11th and restarts after the break.

The last toddlers group before the school holidays is Wednesday the 16th and again, will restart in the Autumn term.

Bible study continues in July on thursday evenings @ 7.15pm with ‘The Romans’ course – see the first session on YouTube HERE.
We will pause our bible study course for August before resuming in September.

Summer Fair

Don’t forget its our summer fair on the 26th July 9.30-2pm.
All proceeds for the summer fair will go to support ‘World of Worth’.
Offers of help on the day, clothes, shoes, toys, books, bric-a-brac e.t.c. are all very welcome. Why not have a summer clear out for any unwanted or unused items.
Donations of cakes and treats also very welcome nearer to the fair date. More details can be found HERE.

June 2025 News Update

June 15th is our all-age family father’s day service starting at 10.30 followed by tea and cookies

Congleton bible week flyer

This month we have Congleton Bible Week. Our guest speaker is Rob Cotton and the theme this year us “Real Love”.

There are five sessions:
– Thursday 19th June 7.30pm at New Life Church, West Road.
– Friday 20th June 7.30pm at All Saints St Stephen’s Church, Brook Street.
– Saturday morning prayer breakfast 8.30am at St Johns Community Centre, Buglawton. (Please book breakfast meeting for catering purposes on either 01260 409 039 or rector@allsaintscongleton.org.uk)
– Saturday 21st June at 7.30at All Saints St John the Evangelist (Buglawton).
– Sunday 22nd June 6pm here at Cross Street Church (this replaces our sunday evening service).

Please note our normal Bible study on June the 19th is cancelled as there is the Bible week session on at New Life Church.

Also this month we will be hoping to start the Bible Society “The Roman’s course”.

Upcoming Events

The date for our summer fair has been confirmed as the 26th July – start looking for any unwanted clothes/ books/ toys/ brick-a-brac!

We will also be having a taster of the “Christianity Explored” course taster by Rico Tice in one of our sunday evening services. Christianity Explored is a relaxed and informal way of sharing the best news you can ever hear, and gives people space and time to think about the big questions of life. May 2025 News Update

All our usual activities have now returned to normal after the Easter Break and our bible study evenings on Thursdays continue meet in person at the church as the evenings are now lighter.

We heard all about the excellent work of the Albanian Evangelical Mission this month, and raised £220 for their work. Read more about the AEM here: https://aemission.org/

Our all-age family service (a child friendly service for all the family) is on Sunday 25th May 10.30-11.15 am followed by coffee and cookies.

Half-term is at the end of the month, so no toddlers group on the 28th May and no Lighthouse group on 23rd or 30th of May.

April 2025 News Update

Easter is nearly with us and toddlers and lighthouse will pause for the two weeks of school holidays (so no toddlers group 9th or 16th of April and no Lighthouse club on 11th or 18th of April).

Our prayer meeting on wednesday and bible study on thursday will also pause for Easter week (16th and 17th respectively). Bible study on thursdays will now be in person over the lighter months.

Everything pausing for Easter resumes week starting 21st April.

Our Spring Fair is on 9.30-1.30 12th April, come and bag a bargain and a cake. Donations of bric a brac/clothes/books/cakes etc all very welcome.

Easter Services

Good Friday Service: 10.30am. There is also a Congleton town centre open air service at 12.00 noon.

Easter Sunday Breakfast 9.00am followed by our Easter Sunday morning service with a 6.00 evening service as usual. Please do let us know if you want to come to our Easter breakfast for catering purposes.

And to end the month we have Andrew Calvert’s retirement service on the 27th April at 10.30

March 2025 News Update

This month we welcomed Congleton Unplugged to our church and the sales of teas and coffees and donations raised over £200 for the Gathehu School in Kenya. See more about this project HERE.

Next month we have:

  • Our spring fair on the 12th of April – so time to get sorting and start bring down any unwanted clothes/ books/ toys/ bric a brac etc.
  • Andrew Calvert’s retirement service at the end of the month.
